DR. PETER MASIBO LUMALA

Following completion of his Ph.D at the University of Nottingham in 2007, Dr. Lumala returned to his native Kenya and in the wake of the post-election violence that rocked Kenya, he and his wife converted their home into a school for poor children, orphans, and those displaced by the violence. At present, there are 130 students enrolled at Upendo Junior School.  Dr. Lumala does not charge school fees, but rather works with his income, support from generous friends both locally and abroad, and local fundraising.
